As part of Alberta Culture Days, the Arts & Culture Council of Strathcona County is pleased to offer this free workshop:

Hoop Dancing Workshop

All Ages

Jerry Saddleback Jr. and The Plains Cree Traditional Hoop-Dance & Teachings - Carrying on a sacred tradition passed down from generation to generation, the Plains Cree Traditional Hoop-Dance is one that leaves a powerful impact on every crowd. At the tender age of 4 years old this sacred dance was passed down to me from my Father Jerry Saddleback Sr. and so forth from his Father Joe Saddleback. The Traditional Hoop-Dance holds many sacred teachings and stories that are shared throughout this interactive facilitation through speech and dance. This workshop will also feature Jerry's 5 year old daughter who will also be demonstrating hoop dancing.
